About Us
Our Story
Sporting Life Kennels all started with owner, Marty Roberts’ passion to raise and train gun dogs. When Marty was 17 years old, his parents gave him his first hunting dog, Jimbob. That first puppy began a passion to raise and train hunting puppies and dogs for people all over the world through our trained British Labrador Retrievers and Puppies, retriever training, obedience, and upland programs. Sporting Life Kennels is located on a 42-acre farm in Oxford, MS with three training lakes, two large hay fields and training woods.
Our Team
SLK has been very blessed to be in Oxford, Ms. The University of Mississippi through the years has been an excellent source of staffing. We have built long-term relationships with some of the finest young men and women anywhere. In the South, the outdoor lifestyle goes hand in hand with our culture. In fact, to a large part, that is our culture and Ole Miss is in the heart of it. This is where by and large our team has come from.
Many of them are now lifelong friends. We take joy in their successes long after they have left us and gone out into the real world.

At Sporting Life Kennels, we have been breeding and training retrievers since 1980. We believe that no two dogs are alike, so we tailor our program to fit each dog's individual needs. Our goal is to help create loyal companions that you can be proud to take anywhere.
